Meet Lizeth

Lizeth De La Luz is a Mexican-American Poet, Educator, and Editor based in Orange County, California. She is the Poetry Editor at Angel City Review and serves as the TYPL Program Director. She holds an MFA from San Francisco State University, where her poem “The Rio Grande” received the Ann Fields Award. She writes about the frustration of language barriers, learned barriers, and the anxieties of living/loving/birthing/grieving in a Mexican body in the United States.

When not writing, she strives to make the publishing space more accessible for emerging writers.

Once a year, she hosts a content day where writers can get professional photography and video content for their websites or social media — free of charge. Lizeth has mentored over 10 emerging writers, mentored Open Mic hosts, has helped expand Open Mics to include writers of all expereince, and has hosted accessible workshops for new writers.
